Ocean Reef Beach Festival, Pelican Beach Park, Saturday December 3, 2016, 10 am – 5 pm

We’ll be at the ORB fest again this year in December to show the electric vehicle charging station the city of Satellite Beach installed at Pelican Park.  We will be there to answer everyone’s questions about the charging station and how well it works for getting a charge while you relax or play on the beach.  If you have questions about EVs come out to the ORB fest and ask us!

Satellite Beach Founders Day, Saturday November 5, 9 am – 3 pm

This year’s celebration of the birthday of the city of Satellite Beach will have a different theme: Under the Big Top.  So make sure to come dressed as a circus related person like a lion tamer or ringmaster.  Or in our case we’ll try to fit as many people as possible into an EV like a Clown Car Competition!  Try to stump the chump by asking us all of your burning questions about driving electric.

Brandon Henry emailed us to have a display at the Florida Tech Residence Life event in Southgate titled R.A.A.D.D (Resident Assistants Against Drunk Driving) event.  We will be bringing some elctric cars to the event to also add the sustainability and energy conservation ideas to the mix.  It will take place on October 1, 2016 from 7:30pm to 9:00pm at Southgate on the Florida Tech campus.  Bring all your questions about EVs to ask real EV owners.  You might also get to take a ride in a real EV!

National Drive Electric Week at the Schechter Center, Saturday September 17, 10 am – 4 pm

This will be the THIRD NDEW event by our club and second one in Satellite Beach.  Last year we had a little over 300 attendees and 35 electric cars.  Let’s see if we can DOUBLE those numbers this year.  Tell everyone you know to go to our official event page to sign up to attend so we know how many EVs are coming as well as attendees.  This year we decided not to have any vendors or exhibitors and focus on the cars and ride and drives and have a giant, EV tailgate party!  Expect there to be backyard games too like ladderball and cornhole.  See you in September!

First Sunday of the Month Meetup at The Mansion, Sunday September 4, 2 pm – 4 pm.

For September we’ll meet at the lower pavilion at The Mansion in Melbourne.  If anyone needs a charge to get home you can use the free level 2 charger at the Melbourne BMW (make sure to pop inside and thank them and talk to Denis DeSousa) or the level 3 chademo charger at Melbourne City Hall. If you do need to charge here while we meet, make sure to use this email list or call me at 256-369-9193 so one of us can pick you up and drive you to the Mansion and back to your car.

We need to go over the status for the tasks for getting ready for the big National Drive Electric Week event on Saturday Sept 17. Don’t forget to go right now and sign up to attend if you haven’t already! We need it show way more than 30 cars since we now have 60 cars in our group!

View Earth from a new perspective and see how NASA Earth Science Missions and technology spinoffs help scientists and farmers care for the planet.

Saturday March 12, 2016 10 am – 2 pm

At the David R. Schechter Center in Satellite Beach.  From the Satellite Beach Rec Department website:  “March 12    Big Truck Day.  So many BIG trucks – so little time! Fire trucks, dump trucks, cement mixer and more will be on hand for kids to explore, climb on, sit in and experience what it’s like to be in the driver’s seat. An adult must accompany kids. This FREE event is held in the parking lot of DRS Community Center from 10am-2pm. Refreshments will be available for purchase from the SB Lions Club.” We were invited by the city to bring some electric cars to this event.  We think having the big difference in big trucks vs. electric cars will help the major benefits of driving electric that we explain to the attendees better stick in their mind.  So bring the whole family and climb up in the big trucks then climb in the electric cars.  And don’t forget to ask us all about driving electric!  We’ll tell you exactly what to expect since we’ve been driving them for years.
